The One in which I mostly talk about Lawyers

First things first, did you get the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. reference from the title?

You did? I love you already.

You didn’t? Please go and watch Friends. I love you too, don’t worry.

This post is divided into two parts. First, I talk about Friends and second, I talk about lawyers.

So, F.R.I.E.N.D.S. …I am a little teary-eyed actually. It’s the ten year anniversary of the show this year and some evil people were circulating this-

friends

Don’t you wish this was really happening? I do. I really, really do.

It’s the only show I’ve watched completely (so far). And, honestly? Only Game of Thrones compares to F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Then too, I’m more emotionally invested in Friends. I’ve laughed when they laughed. I’ve cried when they’ve cried. I’ve debated whether Ross and Rachel were on a break or not. And I’ve cried when they leave the apartment in the last one.

I’ve loved Monica, Chandler, Ross, Rachel, Joey and Phoebe (and Mike) as if I knew them personally.

Friends-007

So when the rumors started that there was going to be a reunion, I was really rooting for one. But then, they turned out to be rumors and my heart broke.

I am full of questions.

We know that Joey moves to LA and it’s hinted that Ross and Rachel get married. But do they stay married? And Mondler? And what about Phoebe and Mike? Do they end up having kids? What kind of an elder brother is Ben? Does Joey ever get married? I hope so because he is the one among the six who can love truly. That’s because Joey is most selfless one.

And! Are Emma, Phoebe’s triplets, Ben and Mondler’s twins friends, just like their parents?

I won’t ever know for sure but I am going to imagine that yes, Friends, gen 2 are best buddies. Just like the parents :’)

But, some part of me is secretly relieved. It’s better to let something be rather than try to revive it and get an incomplete imitation.

James Michael Tyler, or Gunther, did a fabulous interview. That was when I realized how much I really love Gunther. If it weren’t for Gunther’s coffee, would the Friends have hung out at Central Perk? Would they have been such great friends? I think not.

I am in dire need of a F.R.I.E.N.D.S. marathon. I already have ‘I’ll be there for you’ by the Rembrandts on repeat.

Now, moving on to the lawyers part of the post.

Lawyers have always impressed me.

These days, I’ve begun to walk down to college from the railway station with Geet. On the way, we pass the High Court. The lawyers rushing about just outside it are spectacular in their formals and blazers, and constant calls.

We’ve been observing this lady on the station. I saw her leaning against a shop window, coolly sipping steaming coffee. Then we saw her outside the High Court. I have a great deal of respect for her. She is always so calm yet calculating, observing.

Before I got into BMM, I was seriously contemplating lawyer as a future career. Now, a couple of months later, the thought is once again creeping into my mind. Well, it’s an option.

Grrrr! Choosing careers is so confusing. But that’s an issue which requires a post of its own.

I’ll stop now. I have ‘Midnight in Paris’ on pause. Paris! Owen Wilson! Woody Allen! Fitzgerald! Hemingway (although I’ve never read him)! Woohoo!

In America, we hate all lawyers but they do make tons of money. Good luck!

First: You make me happy with your mention of Friends! (It’s one of my favorite shows! And yes, I’m sad they didn’t do a special, but it’s good to have left it where it did. However, there will be a Central Perks in NY soon!)

Secondly: Choosing a major IS hard! I remember that struggle. Regardless, there will always be days where you hate whatever you choose. Remember, it’s part of it – you’ll love the experience no matter what.

    Lastly: Let’s be friends.

Hey Monica! I love your name! Reminds me of Monica Geller 😀
I would so love to visit the Central Perk in NY! But I live a couple of oceans away so the travelling might be a problem. Sometime into the future, I guess.
I’ve already chosen my major. I’m going to major in Journalism. The thing I’m clueless about is the what happens after?
And honestly? All the newspaper reports and stuff about unemployment isn’t helping.
I try not to obsess over it.
And, I’d love to be friends with you! We could email and video chat! 😀

Haha! Trust me, I have a lot of tendencies like Monica Geller. I have quite a few friend who graduated with Journalism degrees. What really helped them is to figure out what your FOCUS will be. Since Journalism is such a large major it will help to find that focus. A good friend of mine really fell in love love television journalism an is working his way up the News food chain!

Wow! What kind of tendencies? Monica is awesome! (Both of you 😀 )
I honestly don’t know yet. I’m afraid that I’m not bold enough to go and work field. Travel journalism seems really interesting right now but I don’t know if it’s actually possible. I’m just terribly confused right now. But all of us have that phase, right?

Would you prefer to talk via email? I don’t mind either way. More comments for me here 😛

I’m cool with either way! (:

I’ve a neat freak like Monica Geller; I’m always cooking for someone else, and my humor (although not as epic as hers) is sarcastic based, too.

Wow! You cook! I really do respect you for that. Cooking is an art (which I do not possess).
        Where are you from?
