Top Authors I’ve Only Read One Book From But NEED to Read More

I love making list and I’ve been wanting to do a Top Ten Tuesday for ages. So here’s me, seizing the opportunity.

10) C.J. Skuse : I read Rockoholic earlier this year and it was an eye-opener without being tragic. Yes, I’m obsessed about a rockstar. So I could relate to it. Also, her bio on Goodreads makes me want to read more of C.J. Skuse’s books. Talk about badass.

9) Ned Vizzini : It’s kind of a funny story was a book that is still loitering around my brain. Usually, I tend to forget about the books I’ve read. Yeah, I need to eat almonds and improve my memory. I really want to read Ned Vizzini’s other books.

8) Cath Crowley : Oh these Autralian authors! How I love them! Melina Marchetta would have been here too if I hadn’t read The Lumatere Chronicles. Anyway, Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley was magic. Secret Graffiti artists, destiny, Nuit Blanche…bam! Magic! This list has made me realize that I should add her other books to my TBR and read them!

7) Matthew Quick : Silver Linings Playbook– the book, while quite different from the movie, was better. The book is always better. I will hopefully read Forgive me, Leonard Peacock real soon. Dude’s got Peacock as a surname!

6) F. Scott Fitzgerald : I have multiple reasons for reading more of Mr. Fitzgerald. But honestly, do I even need a reason? The Great Gatsby was pretty awesome. Plus, it never hurts to read more of classic writers. And! I am a HUGE fan of his great granddaughter Blake Hazard from The Submarines and Gatsby isn’t her favorite. So I really want to try out the Fitzgerald books she likes.

5) Cassandra Clare : I’ve read the first book of The Mortal Instruments and I’ve a pact with a mate. She’s going to issue City of Ashes for me from her library while she reads City of Bones. But we have our semester exams next week. Phew. After that, I suppose.

4) Maeve Binchy : A Week in Winter was one of the most calming books I’ve ever read. Maeve Binchy’s books are usually based in rural Ireland. Now, I’ve never been to Ireland- rural or urban. But it sounds beautiful from her books. Plus I’ve owned Tara Road ever since I picked it up in a second hand shop last year. I better read it soon.

3) Jonathan Stroud : Okay, so, Bartimaeus in The Amulet of Samarkand was a total badass! I can’t wait to borrow the next book in the series from Dee.

2) James Dashner : Dystopia happens to be one of my favorite genres. The Maze Runner was gripping and I want to know what happens next and most importantly, who dies? It’s a dystopian novel. Might as well accept that loads of characters are going to die.

1) Arundhati Roy : Technically, I’ve just read an essay of her’s but it was some 90 pages long so I hope it counts. Arundhati Roy is super super super smart and she has the ability to use her pen as a whip. The essay I read was on the Narmada Bachao Andolan, titled The Greater Common Good. But it was so well written. She criticized the dam project with all the correct arguments. I was immediately influenced by her written word. She is just amazing. I should really buy The God of Small Things and read it asap!
